The late Aaron Russo, noted motion picture producer, director and Patriot created a motiviting anomoly called America: Freedom to Fascism - The Movie.

       During late 2005 and early 2006, the movie was recognized to have the extraordinary ability to raise the conscienceness of passive Citizens and to stoke the fire of Patriotic emotion to an empowering fire for political activity.

Viral Marketing Volunteers 
        AFTF Volunteers were an offshoot of the marketing of the movie. The original volunteers were an inexpensive substitute for promotional investment, each volunteer driven by individual patriotic fervor as men and women recognized that the movie could become a catalyst for political action in a society dead tired of politics as usual and voiceless elections. A small volunteer cadre organized pre-release showings of the movie and aided in a grass-roots promotion for the commercially release to theaters across the country. In virtually every showing, the movie was greeted by standing room only audiences and each curtain ranfg with applause, praise and signup of new volunteers.

Volunteer Issue of America: Freedom to Fascism DVD
        By the end of February, 2007, Aaron had produced and issued a Volunteer version of the movie and made a gift of the DVD to the Volunteers with the encouragement  "To get the DVD in the hands of as many Americans as possible." The incredible success of the Volunteers' is reflected in the distribution of over 100,000 DVDs to the general public and Patiot community during the initial three months of activity.

        This huge success by the Volunteers brought the support and confidence of other, more passive volunteers, but with the entrance of Ron Paul's presidential nomination exploration, the Volunteers turned the tigers loose. Within the first six or seven months of Ron Paul''s search for suport among the voters of the country, the Volunteers provided Dr. Paul's name recognition and status from virtually unknown in February to national prominance and debate dominace by August. Ron Paul is now the acknowledged choice for president by the country's supporters of our Constitutional Republic.

Political Volunteers
        As the promotional and commercial viewings of the movie slowed and DVD sales began, the volunteers initiated a life of their own. Russo acknowledged the success and incredible growth of the now politically oriented Volunteers and the term "AFTF Volunteers" became common as self identification by volunteers across the country. Self organization began in earnest during December 2006. The fantastic success by the Volunteers to distribute Aaron's DVD gift brought confidence and attention to the Volunteers' proven capability and obvious potential. 

        In mid-Winter, rumors began circulating about converting the volunteer "AFTF Volunteers" into a professionally managed and directed organization. On April 2nd, 2007 Aaron announced the new structure, with appointed leadership under his personal direction. The new AFTF National Volunteer Network Coordinator, Gary Franchi, explained the structure of the new organization with assurances that the goal of the AFTF Volunteer Network would be to Restore the Republic by bringing Russo's selection of political targets to political pressure generated by the AFTF Volunteer Network.

Creation of the AFTF Volunteer Network Technical Resource Model
        The AFTF Volunteer Network plan embedded a technical resource headed by the new Director of New Media, Samuel Ettaro. Among the visionary assets of the new Directorship were capability for national communications, audio video training and media access, new Internet and wireless TV and Audio talk shows and other aids running the gamut from simple sign and press release training and guidance to full-blown national traditional media advertising and promotion.

Volunteer Mirrors
        The creation of the military-style AFTF Volunteer Network was met with hesitant reluctance by many Volunteers. An alternate course was diligently sought and adopted by California Volunteers whereby they would acknowledge the AFTF Volunteer Network under Aaron's leadership and Direction, but that independent Volunteers would continue independently for all matters, with internal grass-roots leadership and policy direction, and adopt or not adopt Aaron's projects on a case-by case basis.

        Aaron's new AFTF Volunteer Network and the independent Volunteers began testing the working "Mirrored" relationship with the same acceptance as theyalso  reach out to all other groups for mutual support in a country-wide search for unity of purpose. After several months of accommodation and the great loss of Aaron to the ravages of cancer, the Volunteers have successfully grown in numbers and in cooperation. Time and experience have shown that although Volunteers are an independent personality, we have the good sense and wilingness to rise to the need of cooperation for mutual benefit and common goals. The evidence of success for grass-roots leadership and cooperation may be seen in the stellar rise of Ron Paul, Texas Republican Congressman from obscurity to national prominance and potential President in 2008.

        Aaron's death was a sorrowful moment for most Volunteers. We recognized and continue to use the finest motivational tool we have ever had, Aaron's gift of America: Freedom to Fascism DVD to the Volunteers. What the future holds for Liberty in our country, we cannot say at this moment. But the spirit and patriotism of Aaron Russo, 1943 to 2007, will live on by every act of the Volunteers following in his footsteps, to restore our Republic.

        The sum of the AFTF story is that Volunteers are inherently unaffiliated and will rise to meet the demands placed upon them by cooperation as volunteers of the organizations they form for different reasons, so long as the needs and goals are shared by the individual free men and women.
